Domestic Phoenix Sewing
A site dedicated to sharing my love of the fiber arts.
Domestic Phoenix
Welcome to the new digital home of Domestic Phoenix. While the days of curated kits and fabric sales have passed, the heart of the brand remains: a commitment to mindful making, sustainability, and the freedom of self-expression through sewing. This space is now a personal chronicle of my sewing journey where I share what I’m making, what I’m learning, and how I continue to celebrate the power of creation.

A Personal Evolution
Domestic Phoenix has always been about more than just supplies; it’s about building an inclusive community of makers. As I transition from a shop owner to a hobbyist, my mission remains the same: to bring appreciation for sustainably sourced fabrics. Here, you will find my latest projects, featuring the same textiles I’ve always championed, designer deadstock, certified organic cotton, and unique vintage finds. For me, home sewing is freedom. It is a blend of art, creativity, and analysis that allows me to bring new worlds into reality.

About Me
I didn't grow up sewing. I learned to thread a machine at 34, and what started as a single community college class grew into a deep, creative outlet. I am not a master tailor, and I don't aim to be. I value being present, slow, and intentional. I love that I can screw up and laugh at my mistakes because the joy is in the process. Domestic Phoenix is the evolution of my journey as a maker, moving from a sustainable brand to a personal mission to simply make sewing a part of everyday life. What You’ll Find Here:I will share detailed breakdowns of my latest makes, including the fiber content, weight, and care of the textiles I use. I will share reflections on working with deadstock and eco-friendly materials.
